Editor,
I am actually one of those rare individuals who researched the position of Chenango County Court Judge in depth. Believing the position of Chenango County Court Judge requires a person with family and personal stability, I asked the candidates’ wives why they are running for office. Without knowing anything about me, Lou Ann McBride wrote me a two page letter communicating her husband’s experience and commitment to Chenango County. Lou Ann’s belief in her husband and their 28 year commitment to one another is important to me.
As my husband John and I got to know Joe and Lou Ann, it became apparent that they share many of the same values that we in agriculture share: hard work, pride, and loyalty to our family and Chenango County. Whereas the farmer wakes every morning to feed the people, I have learned that as District Attorney, Joe wakes to serve the people of the county.
