CHENANGO COUNTY – County law enforcement, fire crews and emergency personnel were kept busy over the weekend, responding to a number of motor vehicle accidents – including two rollovers – and a pair of structure fires.

At approximately 10:45 p.m. Friday, the Norwich Fire Department and EMS responded to a car versus pedestrian accident at 32 South Broad St. that resulted in minor personal injuries, according to authorities. One individual was transported via ambulance to Chenango Memorial Hospital and it was unknown as of press time if any charges have been filed.

On Saturday – at approximately 5:30 a.m. – the Afton Fire Department, assisted by Cooperstown Medical Transport, responded to a minor one-car accident at 1605 State Highway 7 in the Town of Afton. No one was seriously injured, said emergency officials, and no charges have been filed.
