NORWICH – Residents in the city’s sixth ward will have a choice between two candidates to represent them when they head to the polls for today’s primary.
Appointed Alderman Thomas LoPiccolo, 52, is being opposed by lifelong city resident and local entrepreneur Daniel Palmer, 32, for a seat on the council. LoPiccolo, who was appointed the position in January following former Alderman Robert Jeffrey’s election to city supervisor, is running for the position for the first time. Palmer, on the other hand, is no stranger to the campaign scene. He opposed then Alderman Jeffrey by running as an independent in the 2009 general elections.
