NORWICH – Chenango County’s registered Republicans, Conservative and Independence Party members turned out in force for Thursday’s primary, each putting Frank Revoir Jr. in the lead for their respective nominations for Chenango County Court Judge.

Unofficial results released by the Chenango County Board of Elections last night show Revoir leading on all three ballot lines over his opponents, Joseph McBride and Diane DiStefano.

“It looks like we did it,” enthused Revoir from his campaign headquarters at the Ontario Restaurant in Norwich last night. “We are absolutely thrilled by the voter turnout and happy to see that this race has generated so much interest.”

In the race for the Republican Party nomination, Revoir garnered 2,092 votes to McBride’s 1,812 – a margin of 280 votes. Elections officials report that 364 of 521 absentee ballots sent out have been returned, but those numbers aren’t reflected in last night’s total. Of those ballots in, 337 are from registered Republicans – a total of 491 GOP members requested ballots. Absentee ballots from all three parties won’t be officially received and counted until next Thursday, reported Elections Commissioner Carol Franklin.
