Published: October 26th, 2012

EARLVILLE – If the idea of witches and ghosts send shivers up your spine, perhaps you had better avoid the old 1892 Opera House on Saturday, Oct. 27 from 7-9 p.m. A great deal of creativity goes into its transformation this time of year! It takes a couple of weeks for the conversion to be complete and once again the forces of Halloween are with us.

If you have a brave streak running through your young heart, don’t miss the fun of the Haunted Opera House! Scary exhibitions and monsters are definitely included this evening. The population of monsters has definitely grown since last year. TALONS BIRDS OF PREY from the natural world will be joining us with real owls like “BIG MOMMA OWL,” plus either a BARN OWL or SCREECH OWL. Beware of the WICKED WITCHES as you enter their den! They’re conjuring up spells and cooking a bubbly brew! You’ll wander down a dark eerie hallway to the VAMPIRES DINING ROOM. They’re waiting for you to dine with them and are hungry for fresh warm blood!! You’ll have to go by the Witches if you’re not scared to go upstairs to the CREEPY INN TAVERN. Its haunted by patrons of long ago! Then the turn-of-the-century 1892 Theater is haunted by other worldly creatures – is there a chill in the air that suggests a GHOSTLY PRESENCE? As you exit through the PARLOR OF HORROR Mister Bones will have free candy and the CREEPY BUTLER will wish you a FOND FAREWELL!!!! All in good fun! Come anytime to tour and spend as long as you like!

Take a trip into another dimension that ghosts and goblins inhabit to gleefully scare the daylights out of everyone! The Earlville Opera House is located at 18 East Main Street in Earlville. While this event is free, donations are accepted to support youth programming. For more info check www.earlvilleoperahouse.com or call 315-691-3550.
