NORWICH – Howard Johnson Hotel in Norwich is hosting a food and supply drive this week to benefit those affected by the devastation of Superstorm Sandy.
Non-monetary donations will be accepted at the front desk of the hotel on North Broad Street in Norwich until 11 a.m. Friday. “We’re looking for anything that’s going to help out,” said General Manager Dana Meyer. Non-perishable food items, toiletries, toys, pet food, clothes and other daily necessities are some of the items recommended. At the end of the week, donations will be trucked to Clinton, N.J. for a collection benefit organized by the American Red Cross on Saturday.
Said Meyer, “Anything that anybody can give would be appreciated. We’re trying to get anything we can to help them out.”
