The Norwich and Oxford Fire Departments, assisted by the Chenango County Sheriff’s Office and New York State Police, responded to a working structure fire at 5169 State Highway 12 in the Town of Norwich at approximately 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at CZ-USA and Dan Wesson Firearms Manufacturing. Manager Keith Lawton, who was on the scene, said the cause of the fire was unknown but believed to be electrical in nature. State Highway 12 has been shut down from Wal-Mart to the Halfway House bridge as a result of the fire. More details will appear in tomorrow’s edition of The Evening Sun.
