Sherburne-Earlville 68, Clinton 44
CLINTON – Clinton was unable to keep pace with Sherburne-Earlville’s high-powered offense Monday night.
Jordan Van Althuis and Mikayla Solloway led the Marauders (3-1) with 16 points apiece, while Lilly Berg and Mattie Dowdall each poured in 14 in a runaway victory.
“I expected a good game tonight, but we’ve been shooting it pretty well and we’ve been pretty balanced on offense,” said S-E coach Karen Mulligan, whose club is averaging 63 points a game over the past three games.
Solloway scored 13 of her points in the first quarter. The fast-breaking Marauders extended their lead to 10 by halftime, and put the game out of reach in the third. Van Althuis nearly had a triple double adding 10 rebounds, nine steals, and six assists to her night. Berg pulled down 12 boards, and Solloway had eight.
“We did a nice job running the floor and wearing them down,” Mulligan said. “We had a few turnovers in the first quarter, but we calmed down and settled in.”
