NORWICH – The Norwich branch of M&T Bank is showing that being a big corporation also carries a big sense of community.
M&T Bank donated $2,500 to the Chenango County Roots and Wings Food Pantry to help uphold the charity’s mission of providing help to residents who need it most. The donation comes at an opportune time, according to Roots and Wings Director Melinda Mandeville, as the non-profit organization enters the post-holiday season.
“Donations tend to slow down after the holidays,” said Mandeville, adding that M&T’s contribution helps Roots and Wings replenish the food pantry when donations are slow coming in. “This couldn’t have come at a better time.”
“I am glad M&T is able to help with the needs of the community in such difficult times,” said Norwich M&T Branch Manager Terri Slater.
M&T Bank is also currently taking non-perishable food donations for Chenango County Roots and Wings at its Norwich branch located at the North Plaza. Slater said she will personally match each donated item, can for can, for Roots and Wings.
