NORWICH – The Chenango SPCA is putting together lights and decorations and calling on animal lovers to dust off their dancing shoes for the shelter’s largest annual fundraiser, the Valentine Fur Ball, set to take place at 7 p.m. Feb. 9, at the Canasawacta Country Club in Norwich.
The Ninth Annual Fur Ball – sponsored by Staffworks, Pennysaver, The Evening Sun, Kerry Bio Science, Wells Fargo, NBT Bank, and a number of other local businesses – is already drumming up interest from animal lovers all over. The event features, among other things, live music from the band Rooster and the Roadhouse Horns, photos by Gerry Raymonda Photography of Unadilla, light gourmet fare, desserts, a cash bar, and a chance to help the CSPCA uphold its mission of caring for the neglected, abused and homeless animals of Chenango County.
Moreover, both a live and silent auction will provide guests the chance to bid on fine items including a weekend stay and private tour of the Pompous Ass Winery in the Fingerlakes, a guided horseback riding expedition for two with the Adirondack Saddle Tours in Eagle Bay, tickets to a Syracuse University basketball game and tickets to a Syracuse Silver Knights soccer game. Fur Ball tickets are sold individually for $60, or $100 per pair.
