If I wrote this before the election you might have said this guy is just pushing his political wheelbarrow. But you cannot say this now. We are far away from the next election. And so I can express something akin to the elephant in the bathtub.
That is, it ought to be obvious to most of us that this president’s economic policies have flopped. He was handed a big recession. His team made big moves to counter it. They did not work.
He blamed Bush. He blamed the technology of ATM machines and airport ticket kiosks. He blamed the rich. He blamed Rush Limbaugh and FoxNews. He blamed the janitors. He blamed everybody but his policies. Last week we learned the economy is barely treading water. So he blamed the Republicans. C’mon, Mr. President. Knock off the bulltweedie.
Yes, the Republicans control one house of Congress. But your party controls the Senate. The Senate has not passed a budget in years. Which is against the law. And you control the White House. And you hired a bunch of “czars” to extend your powers to include stuff Congress used to control. You demanded Congress pass your program. You promised the program would win the day. Congress passed it. You plunged us into debt from here to a distant planet. And now the economy is dead in the water. And you blame the Republicans? The dog ate my homework?
