Unadilla Valley 76, B-G 62

NEW BERLIN - When it comes to milestones, Unadilla Valley senior Justin Hofer has come up big this season.

The senior guard had a 31-point night to pass 1,000 career points, and he matched that 31-point output Wednesday to become UV’s all-time leading scorer Wednesday.

Hofer, who had 1,105 points coming into the game, surpassed the record of 1,133 set by Tyler Lloyd in 2005. “All of his points came within the flow of the game,” said UV head coach Matt Osborne of Hofer. “He’s a kid that works hard every day and pushes other kids. He’s a positive influence in practice, in games, and in the locker room. He’s been a real joy to coach.”

Hofer had 17 in the first half lifting his club to a five-point halftime lead. David Dufresne added 11 for UV, who extended the lead in the fourth quarter.

Austin Bauerle scored 29 points for B-G, Corbin Palmer added 15, and Brooks Harmon 13 in the loss.

Hofer augmented his night with 12 rebounds, six assists, two steals and two blocked shots.

The Storm play at Unatego Wednesday.
