NORWICH – In celebration of Valentine’s Day, the Emmanuel Episcopal Church will host its 4th annual Hymn Sing – A Celebration of Love – at 4 p.m. Sunday at the Episcopal Church, 37 West Main St.
As a non-denominational celebration, all are welcome to attend the event, said church organist and choir director Carolyn McMaster, who called the Hymn Sing a great way to bring the entire community together. The Hymn Sing, she added, is less about the church and more about the people – a celebration of life, love and friendship.
Said Deb Cassavaugh, one of two wardens at the Episcopal Church, “In my experience, I have found that people love to sing along with the choir. You see it at concerts all the time. So this is in the same vein but with a spiritual flavor. Valentine’s Day is a good time to have it because there are so many hymns and readings about love.”
