NORWICH – Two individuals charged with various felony crimes were sentenced in county court Friday after entering guilty pleas in their cases, both headed to state prison.

• Cory L. Reynolds, 25, Bainbridge, was sentenced to concurrent sentences of one to three years and two years in state prison – followed by three years post release supervision – and must pay approximately $4,000 in restitution.

Reynolds pleaded guilty to one count of third degree burglary, a class D felony, in December, originally charged with felony burglary; fourth degree grand larceny, a class E felony; and criminal trespass and petit larceny, both class A misdemeanors. He also pleaded guilty to one count of third degree criminal sale of a firearm, a class D violent felony, which resulted in the two year state prison sentence. It was alleged that Reynolds, in February of 2012 in the Town of Bainbridge, did criminally sell a firearm – a Phoenix Arms Model HP22 .22 pistol – that he did not have a permit for, according to his indictment.

Chenango County District Attorney Joseph McBride, addressing the court, noted Reynolds has “a very serious drug problem,” one that had caused him to commit crimes in the area, adding that Reynolds is “a big, strong man” and that “people in this community are afraid of you.”
