Monday’s Games
Blueox Energy Products 74, Pro-Tel 72
Defending league champion Blueox made up a seven-point deficit over the final 3 1/2 minutes of playing finishing the game on an 11-2 run to eliminate Pro-Tel from postseason competition in Monday’s opening game.
Zach Williams scored on an inside post-up move with 15 seconds left to give Blueox a 73-72 lead. Coming out of a timeout, Pro-Tel’s Scott Valens was denied on his drive to the basket when Amos Parry stepped in to draw a charge with two seconds left. Williams added a free throw with 0.4 seconds left to finish off the win.
Parry scored 21 points in the second half, the majority coming on inside post-up moves on his way to a 28-point night. Williams added 20 and Dallas Perez 15.
Steve D’Angelo scored 15 to lead Pro-Tel, Carter Carey netted 13, while Valens and Ben Millitello had 12 apiece.
