Authorities still waiting for autopsy results in Ramsaran case

NORWICH – Nearly three months after she was first reported missing, authorities continue to investigate the mysterious death of Jennifer L. Ramsaran, whose body was located Feb. 26 off Center Road in the Town of Pharsalia.

The body was confirmed as Mrs. Ramsaran’s two days later, according to the Chenango County Sheriff’s Office, although an official cause of death has yet to be released. Investigators, said Sheriff’s Lt. Richard Cobb, are still awaiting a toxicology report from the Onondaga County Medical Examiner’s Office in Syracuse, where the body was positively identified. Various media outlets have reported that Ramsaran’s body was found unclothed, down a slight embankment, and there were no signs of trauma and none of her personal belongings were found in the immediate area. Various reports state that it’s possible the body had been covered by snow due to passing plows and was only revealed as snow began to melt.

A private service for Ramsaran was held Tuesday at the R.J. Fahy Funeral Home, according to her obituary, which appeared in Monday’s edition of The Evening Sun and described her as a “fun-loving wife, mom, daughter and sister,” and “a person with a big heart.”
