Unadilla Valley 12, Sidney 7
NEW BERLIN – An eight-run second inning for Unadilla Valley carried it to its second win of the season Monday.
The Storm (2-3) had five hits during the second and combined that with numerous base on balls and hit batters to forge an 8-3 lead. Kurt Haycook had two hits and two RBI in the second, and finished 3-for-4. Dakota Kolvik reached base safely in all five of his trips to the plate scoring four runs, and Brandon Kuhn was 2-for-3.
Nate Shackleton picked up the win scattering 10 hits and consistently pitching out of trouble. “He had five errors behind him, too, but he won some battles and pitched out of trouble all game,” said UV coach Tom Locke.
The Storm play at Hancock Wednesday.
