Oxford 5, Deposit 4

OXFORD – Another quick start carried Oxford to victory.

The Blackhawks scored three runs in the first to finish off a 4-0 week with a one-run win over Deposit Friday. In all four victories, Oxford scored at least one run in the opening inning.

Andrew Golden had a two-run triple in the first inning, and Matt Moore followed with an RBI groundout. One inning later, Cameron Heggie singled in a run, and he came in on Golden’s second triple of the game.

Heggie, Golden, and Jeff Lawton all went 2-for-3, and Golden pitched a complete game for the win. “It was a great week for us,” said Oxford coach Chris Palmer. “We’ve been able to get the early lead and make it hold up.”

Oxford (4-3) is at Bainbridge-Guilford today.

Otselic Valley 12, Cincinnatus 4

CINCINNATUS – A six-run second inning was followed by a four-run third as Otselic Valley rebounded from its lopsided loss to DeRuyter on Friday.

Greg DeRochie went 3-for-4 with two RBI, Travis Sheldon had two hits and three RBI, while Waturu Sakamoto and Tyler Armstrong had two-hit, two-runs-scored afternoons.
