Oneonta 11, Norwich 1

NORWICH – Oneonta combined its speed game on offense with the power pitching of Brianna Baker to beat the Purple Tornado Tuesday afternoon.

Oneonta finished with 14 hits, many of those slap bunts that pressured the NHS defense. Cami Cleveland and Baker had three-hit days for the ‘Jackets, while Erin Mushtare and Hayley Dower went 2-for-4.

Baker did allow seven hits to Norwich, but she finished with 17 strikeouts. “She is probably one of the three hardest throwers we’ve seen,” said Norwich coach Scott Moore of Baker. “She moves the ball around well, and she had us sitting on our heels.”
