Sherburne-Earlville 9, Bainbridge-Guilford 8
SHERBURNE – Coming off a one-run loss on Monday, Sherburne-Earlville found itself on the plus side of a one-run outcome edging B-G in a non-league contest Tuesday.
After B-G surged in front by one with two unearned runs in the fifth, S-E replied with two runs of its own in the bottom half of the frame to take the lead for good. Jess Lathrop’s bunt single scored pinch-runner Brandy Harmon with the tying run, and Lexi Paul’s RBI single scored Lathrop to make it 9-8.
Winning pitcher Emma Hodges allowed just one baserunner over the final two innings to pick up the victory. Savannah Irwin had three htis and two RBI, Lexi Paul had two hits and two RBI, and Lathrop finished 2-for-3.
Taylor Lamont had two runs scored for B-G.
S-E (6-9) plays at Canastota Thursday.

HANCOCK – A break went Hancock’s way in the top of the sixth, and the Wildcats stretched their lead out with six runs in the bottom of the sixth in Tuesday’s win over Greene.
