NORWICH – For this week's edition of Punching the Clock I took a trip over to A Touch of Moore. Open Tuesday through Saturday, the masseuse and her compatriots have been known to please even the most surly of patrons arriving on the corner of Birdsall and Hale streets laden with stress.

Dinnett Moore and her husband purchased the business' new location in April of 2012. After some extensive demolition work and refurbishments, Moore reopened her doors on Hale Street in October of that same year. Since then, business has been good, as Moore already plans to bring on additional staff allowing the spa to add mother-daughter pedicures, girls nights, and to do that additional hands are needed.

“I wanted to offer more to Norwich,” Moore told me. “I knew I wanted to have a day spa in Norwich because people were always leaving the county and I wanted to get people to stay in Chenango County, and even to drew in people from outside the county.”

Customers visiting the day spa are always greeted with a smile before being offered lemon water or coffee. They are then asked to fill out an intake form, whether they are their for pedicures, hair treatments, or a massage – something which intrigued me to no end. I once dated a girl who was, quite frankly, not the nicest person, but I stuck it out for three months because man could she give a good shoulder rub.
