Track and Field
WINDSOR - At Thursday’s Section IV Class B Track and Field meet, Norwich juniors Matt Murray and Brooke Bonney extended their already dominant seasons with two victories apiece in inclement conditions at Windsor High School.
Murray remained unbeaten in the spring season in the 400- and 800-meter races. He cruised to a 51.57 time in the former event, and narrowly captured the latter timing 2:02.1, just a half-second better than teammate Nuri Harper, who was third.
Bonney set a personal-best winning the discus with a toss of 117-7, and she launched the shot put 37-2 1/4 to easily capture that event. Adding a fifth victory for the Tornado was sophomore Morgan Hagenbuch, who took the long jump with a leap of 16-4.

B-G/Afton’s Julia Knapp and G-MU/Morris’ Christina Hawkins won two events at the Class C meet Thursday. Knapp swept the two hurdles events winning the 100 in 15.89 and the 400 in 1:08.64. Hawkins, meanwhile, finished on top in the throws winning the shot put (34-4 1/4) and discus (106-1).
On the boys’ side, B-G/Afton’s Pedro Aparicio had a season-best 48-4 1/4 to win the shot put, and Greene’s Jeremy Flohr outdistanced the field in the 400 meters with a first-place time of 52.14.
