Five Plead Guilty In County Court

NORWICH – Five individuals recently appeared in Chenango County Court, all of whom pleaded guilty to the charges brought against them.

• Tanya M. Osman, 25, Greene, was sentenced to five years probation after pleading guilty to aggravated driving while intoxicated on April 8.

Osman was ordered to pay $1,375 in fees to over the course of the next twelve months, and must also pay $560.50, plus a 5 percent surcharge, in restitution to an alleged victim whom Osman is accused of having struck with her motor vehicle. The alleged victim, who was jogging at the time of the incident, was a high school athlete, and underwent shoulder surgery as a result of the accident.

• Edwin E. Jenson, 23, Afton, pleaded guilty to driving while ability impaired by drugs, a class E felony, on Monday.

Jenson attested that he did knowingly and unlawfully operate a motor vehicle while his ability was impaired by drugs on November 12, 2012 on State Highway 7 in Afton. He is set to be sentenced to five years probation and must successfully complete the county’s Treatment Court program. If Jenson does not meet the eligibility requirements for Treatment Court, he will serve a split sentence of six months incarceration at the Chenango County Correctional Facility and five years probation.
