OXFORD – In 2010, Todd Seiler and Bryan Smith parlayed their first Bluestone Golf Course Men’s Member-Guest title into a daily double at Canasawacta Country Club. After falling short of a three-peat last year, the Seiler-Smith duo returned to the top spot earlier this month virtually lapping the field with a resounding 12-shot victory over the two-day event.
Seiler and Smith shot a combined 19-under-par with rounds of 60 and 61 to top second-place finishers Jason Golden-J.R. Bogert and brothers Jason and Keith Finch. Golden had the shot of the tournament recording his first career hole-in-one. He aced the 11th hole using a nine-iron during the second round.
In capturing a third championship in four years, Seiler-Smith finished the tourney with a flourish shooting a seven-under-par 29 on the back nine highlighted by an eagle on the par-four finishing hole.
Brian Willis and his partner Josh Williams won the first flight by a single stroke shooting a five-under-par 65 in the second round to edge the brother combo of Bill and Rich Van Orden. Red Fagnani and Steve Estelow captured the second plight nipped runner-up Pat and Ryan Moore by a single stroke.
