To the people of any country or territory occupied by the United States military whose lives have been affected because of the involvement of this nation I was born in, I would like to apologize.

I write the following with a heavy heart and watery eyes to the people of Syria.

I do not support violent intervention in your country. I do not support the impending World War III. The United States government uses force and threat to obtain my money via taxes, and I am sorry that money has been used to cause harm to you and your family. I, as a human sharing this world with you, have nothing against you and wish you nothing but positivity and light.

When one of the US military drones comes down to blast your village, town, or city to pieces - please know I did not want this. When you find your sweet little boy dead, or your home blown to bits, please know I feel for you. When the life you’ve worked hard to build comes crashing down; when a piece of US artillery destroys your livelihood, I’d like you to know not one ounce of my being supports bombing for peace.

I have been aware of the civil war taking place in your country for the past couple years. Conflict is not easy, and I truly wish you contentment and ease during a time which cannot be easy. What I do know is that violent US intervention will in no way make anything better for you.

There are many who don’t want this ... and many who will profit from your suffering. I am sorry those who use and promote violence are more organized than those of us who are nonviolent.

When the US government strikes your nation please know that, while it’s not much of a help, I will cry for you.

To the people of Syria, I am disheartened and sad, and please know “I” am “Ashley” - I am not “the US government” - a violent and psychopathic entity killing you and your loved ones while claiming it is helping you.

(Sidenote: Precision guided weapons that will only strike specified targets ... I don’t believe you, government).

Please also be aware I do not believe the US government is intervening with the people of Syria’s best interests at heart. Nations become involved in wars because they’re profitable.

US President Obama and Secretary of State Kerry can give their banter all they want, but I would like you to know I’m not buying it. I’m no history expert, but when the US had its Civil War and some Americans were killing other Americans, another country didn’t jump in to kill more people to “save the day.”

Maybe I’m crazy, but what the people of Syria need is not bombs and drones and missile strikes in an attempt to ... what ... regain order? Assassinate Al-Assad? Bring democracy? Peace?

Save it.

President Obama said on Friday with regard to the recent chemical attack, “This kind of attack is a challenge to the world. We cannot accept a world where women and children and innocent civilians are gassed on a terrible scale ... This kind of attack threatens our national security interests by violating well established international norms against the use of chemical weapons by further threatening friends and allies of ours in the region, like Israel and Turkey, and Jordan, and it increases the risk that chemical weapons will be used in the future and fall into the hands of terrorists who might use them against us.”

There “they” go again - trying to scare the American people into a threat on “our soil” so that the general populous will support US strikes in Syria.

While the civil conflict in Syria has not been on the forefront of American minds the entire time it’s been taking place, I have been keeping track. I can sadly say I remember a conversation with my brother about two years ago predicting then what is now about to happen in your country.

Members of the Obama administration claim Syrian President Assad introduced the chemical weapons causing the deaths of more than 1,000 innocent people recently. Can they prove that? No. The chemical weapons could very well have been introduced by the rebels, who the US government has funded and provided with weapons ... kind of like how the US government funded Hussein and Bin Laden. A government that also carried out operations on the homefront like Ruby Ridge and Waco.

As I said, I am no expert here, I am merely a human who has decided the Obama administration has opted to kill who knows how many people, all in the name of I-don’t-know-what.

Killing in the name of “keeping the peace” or “preventing a terrorist attack” is not fine in my book.

My heart and mind are with those who lose loved ones at the hands of the US government and US military or any of its allies. I wish you all the best, and if it’s humanitarian aid you seek from somewhere, I apologize for the decision of the US government to bomb instead. Obama said Saturday he will seek congressional approval. We’ll see how that works out.

So to the people of Syria, please hunker down, get somewhere “safe” or flee if you can. Nothing good is coming, and I fear for your safety.

I just want you to know I am not with the United States government on this; and I am not alone.

Keep your head down and your spirits up. Mamas and daddies, hug your babies. Tell your brothers and sisters you love them, and let your parents know how much you care. I can only hope the impending destruction on behalf of US intervention is minimal.
