Oxford 1, Afton 0
OXFORD – Oxford hopped off the winless train picking up a shutout victory over Afton Tuesday afternoon.
Jeff Lawton scored in the game’s opening minutes getting a crossing pass from sophomore Kevin Davis. Oxford had far better scoring opportunities throughout the game, but Afton net-minder Matt Olin made at least three goal-saving stops.
“We knew coming into the game that it would be a tight one, and a good opportunity to get our first win,” said Oxford coach Matt Dorman. “I didn’t know what to expect, and we definitely needed this.”
