The Norwich Cyclones “A” team started the weekend of games with a convincing 48-26 victory at Little Falls Saturday night.
On the game’s first play from scrimmage, Payton Stirone raced 64 yards for a touchdown. Cameron Ivan kicked the extra point. After stopping Little Falls on its first three plays, DaShawn King took the Blue Bombers’ punt back 53 yards for a 15-0 Cyclone lead just three minutes into the first quarter. Ty Rifanburg added a second-quarter touchdown. Noah Marvin scored on a 34-yard bootleg and Bradley Walley also had a 24-yard touchdown. Drew Walsh and Carter Rudnitski finished the Cyclones scoring in the second half on what was a rainy night.
On Sunday, the Cyclones’ “C” team downed Whitestown 26-6. The Cyclones opened their scoring on a 29-yard touchdown pass play from Michael Squires to Ayden John-Lorimer. Griffin Mills added the PAT on a pass from Squires. Squires added a seven-yard touchdown run for a 13-0 first quarter lead. Andrew Mullen intercepted a Blue Knight pass and raced 40 yards for a 19-0 first-half Cyclones lead. Squires added another touchdown in the third on a 30-yard run with Seth Wessels adding the conversion run.
