Norwich Pharmaceuticals held a hugely successful “Alvogen Day” to show its unity with parent company Alvogen and the rest of its sister locations in 30 countries on Friday, September 27.
The autumn season brings with it numerous festivals and events to the Norwich community. In anticipation of these, much work is needed to prepare the look of downtown. In conjunction with the Business Improvement District Executive Director Ann Coe, Norwich Pharmaceuticals was able to organize community projects and teams to tackle the many clean-up projects.
Norwich/Alvogen employees were given "Passion 4 Fun" shirts and matching wrist bands to wear for the event. Employees met in East Park and had group breakfast, provided by Park Place Restaurant. Yellow and black were the theme colors for the day – with matching table clothes, balloons - and even the morning yogurt was yellow with flavors of Banana, Lemon, Pear and Pineapple, sponsored by Chobani.
The sun was brightly shining as the teams spread out across the downtown to add Alvogen value to the look of the community. Teams worked through the morning hours to weed community gardens, trim trees and shrubs, decorate downtown lamp posts with fall colors and corn stalks, clear parking areas of trash and litter, and do whatever it took to improve the appearance of the community. In conjunction with the community projects, employees participated in a 5k Walk/Run around our facility. The day was a fantastic success. Many thanks are extended to employees, Ann Coe, Ann and staff at Park Place Restaurant and Shawn Hess and Ann Turner with Chobani for their time and assistance. Plans are being discussed for Alvogen Day 2014.
