GILBERTSVILLE – The Butternut Valley Grange Post #1533 will be hosting it’s annual Cabin Fever Fun Day on Saturday, February 8, at the Grange Hall on Bloom Street, Gilbertsville. The yearly event is open to the public and board and card games will start at 11:30 a.m., promptly. Each family is encouraged to bring a covered dish for the buffet table and their own table service for the luncheon scheduled for 12:30 p.m.
Following the dinner, several games of Bingo with prizes will be enjoyed. Along with prizes provided by the Grange, each family is to bring a wrapped item, valued at $2 to $3 for Bingo game. This event is sponsored by the Grange’s Community Service Committee and neighbors and friends are cordially invited to enjoy a winter’s day with good food, fun, and fellowship.
Recently, several Grange members attended the morning Soaring Eagles program at which time dictionaries were presented to third grade students in the Gilbertsville-Mt. Upton school system. This is a nationwide project in which the local Grange has participated for more than ten years which also benefits students in Unadilla and Otego communities.
