NORWICH – New York State Department of Health has notified UHS Senior Living at Chenango Memorial Hospital that it is in the top quintile of nursing homes in New York State based on 2013 Nursing Home Quality Pool criteria. UHS Senior Living at Chenango Memorial is the only nursing home locally to achieve this level of distinction.
Ron Cerow, the facility’s administrator, explained that only 113 of the approximately 600 nursing homes in New York State qualified in the first quintile. He explained that the distinction earned by the Chenango Memorial’s nursing home is based on performance criteria including quality measures, compliance with reporting and potentially avoidable hospitalizations and how the facility is staffed to provide care.
Cerow credited the Senior Living staff with the excellent rating. “This is a tribute to our staff and the great work they do. Their commitment to our residents is key to our success. We are very pleased to give our residents this high level of care.”
According to UHS Chenango Memorial Hospital's website, residents “thrive because they are comfortable in the safe and caring environment. Staff ensure that each individual achieves and maintains the highest level of wellness and independence possible.”
