BAINBRIDGE – First responders were called to a unoccupied seasonal residence at 170 Loomis Road in Bainbridge early Tuesday morning to find a working structure that resulted in a total loss of the home.
According to Chenango County Emergency Dispatcher A. Jones, Bainbridge fire crews received reports of a garage fire shortly after 4 a.m. but determined that it was a house fire when they arrived on the scene. The Bainbridge Fire Department, with mutual aid from the Afton and Coventry fire departments, were still on the scene by 9 a.m.
Although the home was unoccupied, it was found to have working electric, said Jones.
No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation by the Chenango County Bureau of Fire.
