OXFORD – Oxford Academy Scholarship Program has announced its annual Phone-A-Thon will take place on Sunday, March 2, 2014. Chairperson Kate Constantine announced the students of the National Honor Society will be manning the telephones from 1-5 p.m. and is asking for tax-deductible contributions for the cause.
In the past, the generosity of the local communities has provided thousands of scholarship dollars for the seniors at Oxford Academy.
With the ever-growing cost of college tuition coupled with the continuation of a lagging economy and long-time employers and industries leaving upstate New York, today's high school seniors are seeking out as many opportunities as possible to help supplement or defray some of the cost of higher education.
