SHERBURNE – In anticipation of the retirement of Sherburne-Earlville Superintendent Gayle Hellert, the S-E School Board on Monday officially appointed a new superintendent to bring leadership and a new vision to the school district.
With unanimous backing from S-E board members, Eric Schnabl will step into the superintendent position starting July 1. Schnabl presently serves as high school principal at the Cazenovia Central School District but has a former career with Sherburne-Earlville as a teacher and administrator.
“It's something I always kept an eye on, to come back and be part of the community again,” said Schnabl. “In a way, it's like coming home. I've had an opportunity to grow professionally and increase my knowledge in education and curriculum, and I look forward to bringing that knowledge back to the Sherburne-Earlville community.”
