NASHVILLE – Local country singer and songwriter, Cassidy Lynn, just signed with Given Music Publishing in Nashville, TN.
While this is a sure sign that the rest of the country is taking notice, Lynn has been in the upstate New York music scene for 15 years, which is a great span of time for a woman who has just turned 26. Music entered her life early, Lynn remembered, as her father worked in radio and her mother and uncle encouraged her to sing using the karaoke system. Some of her favorite influences were LeAnn Rimes, Patsy Cline, Loretta Lynn and the Dixie Chicks – a list that expanded as she grew older to include The Steeldrivers and Waylon Jennings, among others.
While Lynn is a young, emerging artist, she has not forgotten her roots or those of country music. She explained in an email interview, “I have a huge respect for classic country music and where country music's roots come from.” Vice President and General Manager of Given Music Publishing, Mike Sebastian, emphasized this in a press release.
“Cassidy is truly a wonderful young writer with an old soul, and her songs will touch many people,” he said.
