BAINBRIDGE – With a summer full of exciting music and festivities on the simmer in Chenango County, organizers for various attractions are hard at work to promote their endeavors and to send a call out to community members and local businesses looking to participate.
While most of the areas luring summertime attractions look to merely sustain another year, one music-based festival in particular aims to send 100 percent of it's profit to charity.
Rock the Park, an outdoor festival and day long concert that sets up at General Clinton Park in Bainbridge, has traditionally offered variety in booking local acts, but this year organizers are vying to make the fundraising event even bigger.
In effort to turn a bigger profit for the Toys for Tots charity than in previous years, organizers are bringing two larger national acts to the stage to help generate interest and draw local county music lovers out to the show.
Nashville newcomer and seasoned country music writer Chris Janson has signed on with the lineup for the August show. Joining Janson is country music chart-topper Daryle Singletary who peaked at the number two position on Billboards Hot Country chart in 1995, with his single “I Let Her Lie.”
