NORWICH – The Guernsey Memorial Library gave Norwich voters a glimpse of its proposed 2014-2015 budget at the monthly meeting of the Norwich City School Board on Tuesday.

According to Guernsey Memorial Library Director Connie Dalrymple, the facility’s budget for the coming year aligns with the regular increases seen in recent years and doesn't reflect any significant unexpected surprises.

Guernsey's proposed $1.089 million budget calls for a 1.92 percent tax levy increase. The financial plan shows an increase in spending of approximately $15,800 over the 2013-2014 budget.

Most noteworthy is the $25,205 increase to the New York State employee retirement system which Dalrymple said will be a one-time occurrence. The library will pay a total $92,205 into the employee retirement system in the coming year. “It won't be that high in our next budget,” Dalrymple said.

Other notable expenditure increases include:

• $2,764 more for librarians' salaries ($92,447 total)
