The Wait is over, Patrollers! The Toddster predicted it and his favorite time of year has arrived. Summer Movie Season! Yes!! The DVD Patrol said it and we're here with it a month early. At least it's starting to get warmer (more or less). More DVDS have arrived too.

New on DVD

The Hobbit: The Desloation of Smaug- More things always seem happen when you're on a long journey. Bilbo Baggins (Martin Freeman) left his home to go with Gandalf (Ian Mckellan) to assist the Dwarves so they can get back their home Erebor. That task might not be as easy as they think. In this installment, Bilbo and the dwarves encounter a mighty dragon named Smaug and taking him on won't be as easy as first thought. Bilbo still has the ring he found and he's not sure if he should use it or not. What will Bilbo decide to do next? The next film in the Hobbit series hits theaters in December.

Grudge Match- There are times a fight never seems to go away. Fights that have happened in the past are always talked about and people will always wonder what one fighter could have done differently or what if the other fighter won? These are just a couple of the questions that have always bothered Henry "Razor" Sharp (Sylvester Stallone) and Billy "The Kid" Mcdonnen (Robert Deniro). They've hated each other for years and were never able to finish their fight. It looks like they're about to get a chance after a promoter decides it would be a good idea for them to do just that. The only problem is Henry and Billy have been retired for 30 years and they decide it would be good to have one last fight. Getting back into shape might not be as easy as they think. Who will win this match of the century? Stallone is getting back into the fight game with a broadway version and he's also a part of a new Rocky film entitled "Creed" where he trains Apollo Creed's grandson for a fight and will be coming soon to theaters.

Also on DVD

The Bag Man- Finishing up a job never seems to go the way you plan. Jack (John Cusack) has always tried to keep his jobs as worry free as possible. He gets one working for a crime boss named Dragna (Robert Deniro). Dragna just wants Jack to pick up a bag and deliver it.. Jack goes to pick the bag up but encounters trouble in the form of a woman named Rivka (Rebecca Dacosta) who's having some trouble of her own. There are people who seem to want to kill her and Jack gets caught in the middle. He's having a problem finishing his task and Dragna isn't at all pleased. Can Jack stay alive long enough to do what he wants? The Toddster can recommend a few of Cusack's films that are available on DVD in stores now including "Con Air,""Better Off Dead," and "Grosse Point Blank."

Now in Theaters

Captain America: The Winter Soldier- Being a man out of time never seems to get any easier. Steve Rogers AKA Captain America just helped the Avengers save New York from an alien invasion and now everyone is getting used to the fact that their lives may never be the same. For Steve, he spent 70 years in suspended animation and now nearly everyone he knew is gone. He has to find a new life for himself. After some time passes, Steve has been working for Shield and has had to get used to operating a different way as a soldier. Working with the Black Widow (Scarlet Johannsen) is not easy since she has to keep secrets and a few from Steve. He doesn't like that and he goes to Director Nick Fury (Samuel L Jackson). Fury has to keep secrets too and now Steve isn't sure if he wants to keep working for them. He'll have to decide quick after an assassin called the Winter Soldier (Sebastian Stan) shoots Fury. Now Steve will have to go looking for answers but he's not sure who to trust. Steve finds out there are those in Shield that have a hidden agenda and go gunning for him and his new partner the Falcon (Anthony Mackie). Will Captain America be able to stop them in time?

The Toddster's Take- The Summer has stated with a bang. A good story and good action don't often go hand and hand. In this one, it does. Marvel has topped themselves this time out with Evans leading the way. I can't say enough good things about it suffice to say you have to see this movie! It also sets us up for the next Avengers.

The Toddster is a happy guy when he's able to catch a good movie that just wants pleading for more. You'll come out of this one having to take a breath just to catch up. More fun on the way. The Toddster is back on point next time.
