JOHNSON CITY–Norwich’s Hannah Eddy got her first start after shoulder surgery, throwing ten strikeouts in a five run victory over Johnson City.
Eddy had surgery in the fall, but showed now signs of it, Throwing mostly fastballs and hitting her spots.
“They couldn’t catch up with it,” said Norwich varsity softball head coach Scott Moore.
The Tornado batted around in the seventh inning, scoring five runs.
Edy started the rally with a bunt single, hustling to bet out the throw.
Shannon Moore followed with an RBI double, driving in her starting pitcher.
Kassidy Seary walked and a Breanna Cashman sacrifice fly to right field scored Shannon Moore.
Richelle Seaman-Lawton reached on an error that also scored Seary
Another error put Morgan Loucks on base and scored the fourth run of the inning.
Stephanie Meyer came up to bat and capped off the final inning with an RBI single back up the middle.
Eddy remained in the game in the bottom of the seventh, up seven runs.
She would give up a Molly Secord double and allow two runs.
“She was full of nerves because she didnt think that shed be throwing in the seventh,” said Scott Moore, “ She was trying to overthrow... so I went out to calm her down.”
Eddy settled down after the mound visit and got the outs to seal the win in JC.
