SHERBURNE – The sixth annual induction ceremony for the Sherburne-Earlville Wall of Fame will take place at 7 p.m. on Thursday, May 15 in the Barbara Rabig Gallery by the Middle School auditorium. All are cordially invited to attend the ceremony and reception to follow.
This year’s honorees are as follows:
Keith and Carol Harvey: Keith Harvey served the S-E community in a variety of ways. First hired as a teacher for Future Farmers of America, he later became a science teacher and middle school principal. His ability to overcome personal health challenges has been an inspiration to former and current students alike. His late wife, Carol, was a member of the Sherburne Class of 1961 and a dedicated teacher aide in the district for over twenty-five years. Her positive attitude was greatly admired by many co-workers and students.
Rosemary Jaytanie: A former school board member, Rosemary Jaytanie was also an S-E math teacher, tutor, and substitute teacher for many years. Rosemary is a very talented musician, and her skills as an accompanist for school concerts, musicals, community choruses, and school competitions are in demand throughout the area.
Robert “Dutch” Osowski: A member of the Sherburne Class of 1950, Bob is widely known and respected throughout the S-E community. A coach for over sixty years, Bob has also volunteered to help a variety of school and community organizations. He has helped to shape the lives of countless S-E students.
James F. Taylor: A Sherburne graduate from 1963, Jim has been a respected local attorney for over forty years. Jim is also a member of the Finch Fund Advisory Board, providing financial support to local nonprofit groups, as well as the Sherburne Lions Club. A former S-E Booster of the Year, Jim also established an S-E scholarship for the senior girl with the overall highest grade point average.
Rose Tenney: Rose is a positive, forward-thinking volunteer who has helped the S-E community in several ways. As one of the organizers of the S-E Alumni Band, Rose attends to countless details to ensure the success of the band program. Rose’s diligent support of the entire S-E school community is widely admired and appreciated.
Located in the main entrance to the high school, the Wall of Fame is designed to honor S-E graduates and staff who have made significant contributions to humanity, improved the quality of life, or achieved noteworthy recognition in their career or education. The Wall of Fame committee greatly appreciates nominations from the S-E community for future honorees.
