More than 40 bags of heroin found during search

SOUTH NEW BERLIN – A ‘no knock’ search warrant executed Thursday evening by the Chenango County Sheriff’s Office led to the arrest of one female, who is being held on various charges in lieu of $15,000 bail.

The warrant, executed just before 6 p.m. last night on Route 8 stemmed from a lengthy investigation into the sale of both heroin and cocaine in Chenango County, said authorities.

According to a release, the Chenango County’s Narcotics Division recovered cocaine and heroin from within the residence, as well as scales for weighing narcotics and packaging material.

Authorities said 47 bags of heroin and approximately seven grams of cocaine were seized.

Arrested was 39-year-old Jennifer L. Perrotti of South New Berlin. She was charged with two counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third degree, a class B felony; criminal nuisance in the first degree, a class E felony; criminal use of drug paraphernalia in the second degree; and endangering the welfare of a child.

Perrotti was arraigned in the Town of Columbus Court where she was remanded to the CCCF in lieu of $15,000 cash bail.

According to authorities, she is expected to appear in the Town of New Berlin Court at a later date.

The CCSO was assisted by the Town of New Berlin Police Department and K-9 Nitro, as well as the Norwich Police Department.
