NORWICH – Two from the Bronx were arrested by the Norwich Police at approximately 4:35 p.m. Tuesday and were charged with felony drug possession and various other charges.
19-year-old William Rochez was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third degree, a class B felony; criminal possession of a controlled substance, a class A misdemeanor; criminal impersonation in the second degree, a class A misdemeanor; and criminal nuisance in the first degree, a class E felony.
Another Bronx man, Noel Budram, 18, was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third degree, a class B felony; and criminal nuisance in the first degree, a class E felony.
According to the report from the Norwich Police Department, the arrest was made following an incident in the City of Norwich.
Both individuals were arraigned in Norwich City Court Tuesday night.
According to a Norwich City Court employee, both men were remanded to the Chenango County Correctional Facility in lieu of $10,000 cash bail, $20,000 bail bond, or $40,000 real property.
Both are scheduled to appear in court Thursday for their felony hearings.
Norwich Police Chief Joseph Angelino was unavailable for further comment regarding the incident and arrests as of press time. Angelino did say early this morning the men were in possession of crack cocaine.
The amount of the crack has not been confirmed.
