June Indictments: Drugs, Fraud, DWI

A Chenango County grand jury convened for the month of June and as a result six individuals were indicted on Wednesday.

• Robert C. Bryant, 32, Sherburne, was indicted on the charges of forgery in the second degree, a class D felony; grand larceny in the fourth degree, a class E felony; and criminal possession of stolen property in the fourth degree, a class E felony.

It’s alleged that Bryant forged the signature of someone else to purchase $20 in gasoline at a convenience store in the Town of Norwich. It is further alleged that Bryant stole the same victim’s wallet that contained the debit card used. Additionally, per the indictment, Bryant allegedly used the said stolen card to purchase groceries at a store in the City of Norwich.

• Crystal M. Hall, 52, Norwich, was indicted on welfare fraud in the third degree, a class D felony; and offering a false instrument for filing in the first degree, a class E felony.

Hall allegedly concealed wages from the Department of Social Services that she had received from a private employer. During the period of October 2011 through September 2013, Hall received food stamp assistance and Medicaid in the amount of $5,650.92 which she was not entitled to receive.
