Commerce Chenango Announces 2014-2015 Board Members

NORWICH – Commerce Chenango has announced that Deb Sylstra, on the management team at Frontier Communications, and Terri Slater, branch manager for M&T Bank, have been elected by the Commerce Chenango membership to three-year terms on its Board of Directors.

Sylstra has previously served on the boards of of the chamber's Chenango Foundation, and the Norwich Business Improvement District. Slater is an active participant in Commerce Chenango programs, and has served as a Chamber Ambassaror.

Sylstra and Slater join returning board members Betsey Baio, New York Pizzeria (Chair); Melissa Stagnaro (Vice-Chair); Pegi LoPresti, NBT Bank (Secretary); Jim Henderson, GOLDEN Artist Colors (Treasurer); Pete Komendarek, Raymond Corporation; John Massey, UHS Chenango Memorial; Patrick McNeil, McNeil Jewelers; Brian Reid, Norwich, An Alvogen Company; Linda Seymour, Chair of Development Chenango Corporation; Eric Larsen, Chair of the County of Chenango Industrial Development Agency; and Lawrence Wilcox, Chair, Chenango County Board of Supervisors.

Commerce Chenango also wishes to acknowledge two Directors who left the Board in 2014, each of whom served as Chair during his tenure: Jim Currie of Frontier Communications; and Stan McClean of Geneganslet Golf Club.

Commerce Chenango has announced its Board members for the 2014-2015 year. This Board performs the government and policy-making duties of Commerce Chenango, as well as taking responsibility for its finances and the direction of its affairs. The Board is made up of 15 members, with one Board Chair. Five members shall be appointed by virtue of their office, and the remaining ten members are elected by the members of Commerce Chenango.
