NORWICH – Several individuals appeared in Chenango County Court on Monday for pleas, sentencing and mental health determination.

• Jennifer L. Perrotti, 39, New Berlin, appeared in CCC for her arraignment. She pleaded not guilty to criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third degree, a class B felony; criminal nuisance in the first degree, a class E felony; and endangering the welfare of a child, a class A misdemeanor.

McBride stated that Perrotti was allegedly dealing drugs out of New Berlin and was arrested after a search warrant.

Her attorney, Public Defender John Cameron, requested a lower bail as she has a husband and children who need her.

Bail was kept at $15,000 and a drug and alcohol evaluation was ordered. Perrotti was remanded to CCCF and is to appear in court at a later date.

It is alleged that Perrotti, on or about May 15, 2014, did knowingly and unlawfully possess approximately seven grams of cocaine with the intent to sell. It is further alleged that she used her residence for the purpose of engaging in unlawful sales of controlled substances, and did benefit monetarily and received controlled substances from the transactions that took place at her residence. Additionally, per the indictment, there were narcotics and hypodermic needles in areas accessible to a three-year-old child.
