NORWICH – The United Church of Christ in Norwich is opening its doors to church musicians for “Water from the Well,” a day-long program that will involve various sessions, as well as a keynote address from Lloyd Larson, a renowned composer and arranger.
The program will take place on Saturday, July 19 in the church and all church musicians from the surrounding area are welcome to register. There will also be a small concert performance at 7 p.m. that is free and open to the public.
“The 'Water from the Well' seminar is the third that our church has offered,” said Mary Williams, Director of Music Ministries at UCC. “We hope this will be a benefit to area church musicians to inspire and give them some useful materials that they can share with their congregations.”
The program will showcase a mix of traditional and contemporary music, such as spirituals, as well as the familiar and unfamiliar. Each participant will receive a packet of music from the publisher, Lorenz Company. The packet contains approximately 20 pieces of music.
