Hiya, Patrollers! The Toddster has been pretty busy as many of you know but in my travels, I recently saw an interesting article about President Clinton and his wife. They like to do something now known as "bingewatching." Don't let the term fool you. This is just the way someone will take one of their favorite shows and watch episode after episode. I do that quite a bit with my collection and I thought I would share a few shows that you may not have heard of.
Alias- We all need a job to help support us to get through school. Sydney Bristow (Jennifer Garner) gets more than she bargained for. When we meet Sydney, she is going to college and deeply in love with the man in her life. what he doesn't know is Sydney works as an agent for the CIA. For 7 years, she has been fighting all threats to the United States. After her boyfriend asks her to marry him, she decides that she can't hide the truth from him any longer. She tells him that she is an agent but he's not sure he can handle it. The people Sydney works for decide to kill him and she finds him after returning from a mission. After taking some time off, she learns the people in the CIA she thought she was working for are really the ones she has been fighting against for years. Now the only way to save herself from being killed is to retrieve a device that they've been looking for. Can Sydney get it and get into the real CIA to take them down? Grab Seasons 1-5 on shelves now.
Moonlight- There are some heroes who have been around for longer than we think. Meet Mick St. John (Alex O'Laughlin). Mick is a private investigator who did all the jobs an investigator does but he has something no one knows about. The fact that he's been around for 80 years and he's actually a vampire. In the pilot episode, Mick becomes aware of a series of murders with similarities to the way vampires might kill their victims. Along the way, he meets a nosy reporter named Beth Turner (Sophia Myles). Beth is on the same trail of the killer and Mick is surprised to find Beth since he saved her when she was a child from another vampire. Luckily, she doesn't remember him. Can they find the killer before there are any more killings? The complete series is available in stores now.
M.A.N.T.I.S- Heroes all need the right tools to fight crime. Dr. Miles Hawkins (Carl Lumbley) was a brilliant scientist but was in the wrong place at the wrong time where he was gunned down by an assassin's bullet. The bullet didn't kill him but it did paralyze him. Miles is determined to find out who hurt him. Through his company, they develop an exo skeleton that allows him to walk again. It's not without its' draebacks but he confident he can make it work. Can he find out who wants him dead? I picked up the complete series and it's terrific. Pick it up.
Chuck- The jobs we do might make a hero out of us sometime. Chuck (Zachary Levi) was just your basic computer tech working in a store wondering where his life would be taking him next. Be careful what you wish for. An old friend of Chuck's sends him an email that he looks at and to put it mildly he gets quite the headache. That headache is actually a coded signal that downloads all of the Governments' secrets into his brain. Now the NSA sends John Casey (Adam Bladwin) and the CIA sends Sara Walker (Yvonne Strahoski) to find Chuck and see what happened to their intelligence. Chuck learns that someone wants one of the country's top Generals dead and Chuck is the only one who can stop it. Are Casey and Walker going to help Chuck or take him prisoner?
