Chenango Summer Jam part two: Pimps of Joytime get funky

NORWICH – What do you get when you take six Brooklynites influenced by everything from P-funk, Hip-Hop, and Soul and put them on a stage with lights and mics? A satisfying ensemble of rhythm and harmony, better known as The Pimps of Joytime.

Coming to the East Park Stage in downtown Norwich this Saturday, the Pimps of Joytime – or PJT's, as they refer to themselves – will take hold of essential roots-based groove-oozing, funky set list calling upon the sprit of George Clinton, Cyril Neville, and The Family Stone with a modern flair.

Those who've never encountered the PJT's can expect to be taken by surprise by the stage command and musicianship that have earned the group a loyal following.

The group’s live shows and aptly-received recordings have captivated fans all across the country. They have begun writing their own success story, show-by-show, and track-by-track.

PJT's frontman Brian J is a “charismatic and soulful visionary, whose well-crafted songs invite the listener to enter a world of infectious dance grooves and indelible melodies,” according to JamBase.
