We're here again, Patrollers! The DVD Patrol is back with some new DVDS and a couple of old favorites with some good reasons which you'll read about later. Usually August coming up is a bit dead for movies but it's already shaping up for some good movies not only for the theater but for DVD as well. Time to take a look to see what movies you might like for a rainy day or even a lazy one.

New on DVD

Sabotage- You really don't want to mess with a man's family. Even if he's the leader of one of the nation's leading DEA task forces. John "Breacher" Wharton (Arnold Schwarzengger) led his team in to get the bad guys and nothing stood in their way. After their last case, they take some time off. That might not have been such a good idea. Members of Wharton's team are being taken out one by one. Now Wharton's family has been abducted and he's making it his mission to find who's responsible. Could someone on his team be out for blood and if so can Wharton save his family in time? Schwarzengger and Stallone will team up again for "The Expendables III" in theaters on August 15 and will be featured in a future Toddster's take.

Transcendence- No one goes looking to be the bad guy. Will Caster (Johnny Depp) was one of the leading Computer Scientists in the World and someone who worked on the cutting edge of artifical intelligence. An organization has targeted Will because they think he might getting a little ahead of himself and that the World might not be ready for this level of technology. They infect him with radation posioning and now he only has months to live. His wife Evelyn (Rebecca Hall) and his best friend Max Waters (Paul Bettany) have a plan to put Will's mind into a machine so that he has a way to live on. The people who killed Will lean of this and go after Max to show him this may not be the best idea. Evelyn makes Will operational and now he's starting to become too advanced. Are they going to be able to pull the plug on Will before it's too late or is it already? Depp has several projects in the works including a sequel to "Alice in Wonderland" and another round as Captain Jack Sparrow in another "Pirates of the Caribbean" sequel.

My Fellow Americans- This week we lost one of the great TV and movie actors of our time. James Garner was a terrific actor with TV shows like "Maverick" and "The Rockford Files." I decided to share a movie that my Mom and I enjoyed watching together. Garner plays Ex-President Matt Douglas with his rival Russell Kramer (Jack Lemmon). They hated each other and after their terms in office, they were starting to settle into retirement until they become aware of a plot by current President William Haney (Dan Aykroyd) of some shady dealings. As much as they hate each other, Matt and Russell will have to put aside their dislike for each other to stop what's going on. They have to go on the run to stay ahead of Haney's plans. Will they be able to do it? Some other movies starring Garner that are available in DVD include "The Notebook,""Maverick (1994) starring Mel Gibson, and "Space Cowboys" (with Clint Eastwood).

Batman Begins-I couldn't resist this one with it being the Caped Crusader's 75th Birthday and this has become my favorite Batman movie. We meet Bruce Wayne (Christian Bale) who at first glance is just your basic rich kid who likes chasing the ladies and enjoying the night life. When you take a closer look, Bruce lost his parents when he was a kid to a hold up gone wrong. This is when he decided to devote his life to fighting for justice but even heroes have to find a way to get started. Years pass by and he's in prison where he's found by a mysterious man named Henri Ducard (Liam Neeson) who offers him a place to learn how to carry on his fight. Ducard works for a man named Ras Al Ghaul (Ken Watanbe). Bruce begins his training but when he's finally ready to take his place working for Ras, Bruce's idea of justice is a little different. He ha to fight his way and come back to Gotham City where he picks up the tools to finally become the Dark Knight. Bruce also learns that Ducard and Ras Al Ghaul have dire plans for Gotham City. In his new mantle, is Bruce going to be able to stop his mentor before his destroys his hometown? This weekend is the San Diego Comic-Con and a lot of news always comes out including a little tid-bit I picked up about the 1966 Batman TV show finally coming to DVD. For more details, stay tuned.

This one was a change of pace for me and I need it once in a while. Got some all new Toddster takes on the way in the weeks ahead including "Hercules,""Lucy," and "The Gurardians of the Galaxy." The Toddster will return.
