BAINBRIDGE – Thus far, there has been no shortage of great live music locally for the summer of 2014, and midway through, there's more in store for music lovers of all genres.

Coming up in just three short weeks, Rock in the Park, the three-year-old outdoor festival and day-long concert that sets up at General Clinton Park in Bainbridge, will offer Chenango County fans of modern country their own little slice of Nashville right here at home.

In an effort to turn a bigger profit, organizers are bringing two larger national acts to this year’s stage to generate interest and draw upon local county die-hards.

The event was launched in the summer of 2012 when organizers Jason Hall and wife Erica, along with the support of the local community, wanted to do something unique for the less fortunate children in Chenango County.

“2013 was a great year, “ said Erica Hall. “We had a great turnout with approximately 1,000 spectators in attendance. We expect to beat that easily this year, and are looking forward to a great time.”

Rock in the Park now serves as the single biggest local fundraiser for the Chenango County chapter of the Toys for Tots charity.
