NORWICH – 28-year-old Conroy F. Robinson, who has been held at the Chenango County Correctional Facility since his arrest on July 8, 2014, was charged again Wednesday after the narcotics division said 20 packets of heroin were located on the inmate.
“Corrections officers located the heroin during an investigation in the inmate’s cell,” states a release from the Chenango County Sheriff’s Office.
According to authorities, it is believed Robinson “stored the contraband in his body cavity while being processed into the facility on a previous arrest.”
According to Sheriff Ernest Cutting, Jr. of the Chenango County Sheriff's Office, there had been suspicions for a couple of weeks that Robinson was in possession of the drugs. Yet, every time he was searched nothing was found. Searches are conducted on a regular basis as part of standard procedure.
